Research Solutions Africa, was engaged by Dalberg Corporation, to create a dynamic mapping web application to serve as a due diligence tool for a project which involves the identification of Warehouses and Agro-Dealers across various Counties in Kenya. The resulting "Information Mapping System" (IMS) merges geographic information systems (GIS), to produce a dynamic visualization of Agro-Dealers and respective warehouses per County.
As a web-based application, the IMS is accessible in even low-bandwidth regions, and allows users the opportunity to use crowdsourcing to add specific feedback/comments either in-app or via SMS text (see Contact Us section) to ensure that all data are consistently updated to accurately reflect the most currently available information.

Agro-Dealers: a business (size ranges from corner shop to corporation) that sells inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides as well as small tools to farmers. May also provide advisory services on the use of these inputs. |
